Good Luck Jessie!

Sean's (and Mommy's) cousin, Jessie, left today to spend the next year studying abroad in Germany. Sean was lucky enough to see Jessie before she left - and he had fun playing with her. The next time he sees Jessie, he'll be almost 2 years old and will be a little boy - not a baby anymore.

Jessie - we hope you have a GREAT time in Germany - we'll miss you!

Sean's Busy Day!

Sean came through his ear tube surgery with flying colors! We were at the hospital at 6:30am this morning and home by 9:00am. By lunchtime - he was his usual self - and quite talkative. And, this evening when we were playing in the front yard - he took his first 2 steps alone - from Mommy to Daddy! Our neighbors witnessed this momentous occasion. As you can see from the pictures, he has no lasting effects from his dramatic morning at the hospital!

9 Month Well Visit

Sean had his 9 month well visit today. He weighs 19 lbs 2 oz (25 percentile) and is 30 inches tall (90th percentile). Based on the questions that Mommy answered regarding his development - the doctor determined that he is at the development stage of a 13 month old. All in all a good check-up!!! And, NO SHOTS! :)
After we got back from the doctor - he spent the day with his Grammy while Mommy went to work.
Now, we just have to get through his ear tube surgery on Monday!!

A Day at the Park!

Sean loves to visit the playground in our neighborhood. He loves to swing on the swings and laughs everytime he gets in the swing. He also likes to ride the tire swing with mommy - and he loves to swing with his daddy. We try go to go the swings a few times a week. It's GREAT fun!

Sean "The Mechanic"

This morning - when I went in to get Sean out of his crib - I found that he had taken down his mobile - pulled the stuffed toys off of it and was winding up the center piece of it - and trying to pry it open. Kind of like he was tinkering with a motor or something - he was just sitting there talking to himself and playing with the winder. John says that is just like a Croghan - Sean's Great-Granddad, Granddad and Daddy all like to tinker with motors, he's just starting early.

Needless to say - I'll be leaving the mobile down from now on - if I put it back up, he'll just take it down again. He also turns his aquarium on and off throughout the time in his crib when he first wakes up. He has learned how to turn it on - and off - and he talks to the fishies on the screen...:)

I think he gets his talking from me...:) And, his tinkering ability from his daddy...:)

Sean's First PlayDate!

Sean had his first play date today!! We went to my friend Ann's (a dear friend from high school) and met up with her 2 children (Sean (6) and Lauren (4)..and my other dear friend from high school Laura, and her 2 sons (RJ (6) and Tommy (4). Of course, my Sean was WAY younger then the other children. They were kicking soccer balls around and wanting to use the slip-n-slide. My Sean was perfectly content to sit in grass and crawl around on Ann's deck. And, try to put his mouth on everything he could. Of course, I am a BAD mommy for not taking pictures of his first play date - but again - being 4 years younger - he was really just sitting there watching. And, watching he was! He loved watching Sean, Lauren & RJ kick the soccer ball around...(Daddy's already working on this with him - he may not be able to walk - but he'll be able to kick the ball around!!!) and he loved watchign Tommy go down the slide at Ann's playground.
Soon enough Sean...soon enough!!!!

Happy 9 Month Birthday Sean!

Sean is 9 months old today! He's starting to walk (2 steps so far!) and is standing up by himself (for a whole 20 seconds)! He's growing up so fast and will be 1 before we know it. Happy Birthday Monkey!
